Negligence, Greed, and Pharmaceutical Liability
The usual reason given to explain why prescription drugs are so expensive is that it costs billions of dollars to have new drugs researched, developed and ultimately approved for public consumption by the FDA. Yet despite these safeguards, dangerous drugs still slip through the safety net. Sometimes this occurs because the harmful side effects are too subtle, uncommon, or simply take too long to manifest themselves.
Every so often, because so much money has already been invested in the drug, a pharmaceutical company who discovers negative side effects may even suppress the findings and carry on with production. Additionally, non-prescription drugs can cause harm to patients. I was appointed as a member of the Plaintiffs Steering Committee (PSC) in the Zicam Products Liability Litigation (MDL) and elected as Lead Counsel in the concurrent Zicam Arizona state court litigation involving an over the counter, non-prescription drug which resulted in a $15.5 Million Dollar settlement for the injured claimants. Currently, I am litigating mass tort cases involving the manufacturers of Januvia, Propecia, Lipitor and Zoloft, and investigating other pharmaceutical liability claims.
Vaccine Compensation Claims
I have also handled claims through the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. Frequently, patients can be made seriously ill by vaccinations and, as a result, may be entitled to compensation. However, in the interest of supporting public safety, the federal government shields vaccination companies from lawsuits, and instead dispenses compensation, using tax-payer dollars, through the federal Vaccine Compensation Claims Court.
If you have questions regarding a potential vaccine compensation claim or a pharmaceutical liability lawsuit, I can help. Please contact my office online or call 602 266-9000 today to schedule a free initial consultation to discuss your case.
